TIME TO TIDY UP!
Make sure your spring cleaning goals include updating and cleaning up your social media this season! We’ve compiled a few quick tips for you to optimize your feeds for your followers, customers, and clients:
- Claim your business username on all social media even if you might not use it.
- In your bio and “about us” sections, include basic details so your customers don’t have to search for them:
- Address
- Days and Hours of Operation
- Website
- Brand Mission / Brand’s personality / Your latest products or offers
- Try to include a call to action button or link. Give it upfront placement so customers can quickly make reservations, schedule an appointment, send a message, etc.
- Are you aware of the best times to post? Experts say to follow these guidelines:
- Facebook: Thu-Sun, 9am, 1pm, and 3pm
- Twitter: Wed, 12pm, 3pm, 5-6pm
- Instagram: Mon and Thu, 2am, 8-9am, 5pm
- Mix up the content; use the 5-3-2 rule:
- 50% curated posts (news articles, industry news, shared posts)
- 30% original posts
- 20% humanizing brand; show behind-the-scenes of your business

TRASH RULES RESET TO COMBAT RATS
DSNY set-out times for trash are changing on Saturday, April 1 to help keep our streets clean! There are specific options for businesses that use containers for waste, and those that use bags.
There will be a one-month grace period – businesses and residents will receive written warnings until May 1, 2023.
Written warnings will be tracked, and warning recipients will be among the first places inspected for compliance in May.
