Come catch the chill in Clinton Hill!
OASIS is a pop-up, open-air cooling station, created by Street Lab. In high heat, New Yorkers are often forced to retreat to indoor, air-conditioned spaces, which can be isolating as well as energy-intensive. OASIS offers an alternative: a communal, outdoor gathering space that relies on water, plants, and shade to cool people, right in the heart of neighborhoods.
The pop-up features a custom-designed misting river and misting arches that encourage people to gather and cool off together, all without power. Extending a special invite to our elder neighbors, we’re going to add a little DJ music and some fun, classic table games like UNO, dominoes, checkers, and chess. All in a shaded, misted oasis in the plaza! Mark your calendars and plan to chill with us, from 2 – 5 pm!
